Learn to Read Hebrew

There can be many reasons why you would want to learn to read Hebrew. It could be that you would like to be able to read the beautiful prayers or recite liturgical texts of the Siddur (the Jewish prayer book). Or maybe you wish to learn to read Hebrew for academic or professional development.

Interestingly, a large number of people wish to learn to read Hebrew to deepen their understanding of the Bible and its message. After all, the original language of the Bible is Hebrew and not English. And Hebrew has a much smaller vocabulary than the English language and a single word can have a plethora of meanings depending on the context in which it is used. It can take a multitude of English words to explain one Hebrew word and it still will not quite capture the exact meaning. So, those who wish to deepen their understanding of the Bible also learn to read Hebrew – especially Biblical Hebrew.

We will spend time with you and understand why you wish to learn to read Hebrew. We will understand what your motivation is. Our philosophy is that if you know a person’s motivation, you can use that to help them learn faster. For example, if you are motivated to learn to read Hebrew for business purposes, we will ensure that our material is focused around that. Or if you are an academic, we will provide you with lessons that will help you achieve your goals.

We not only give language lessons. Our attempt is for our students to also be exposed to the rich cultural heritage that is behind one of the most fascinating languages in the world.

So if you wish to learn to read Hebrew, please complete our contact form and our Program Director Ariel will contact you personally.
