.אֲנִי מְאוֹד אוֹהֵב לְטַיֵּיל בָּאָרֶץ. אֲבָל חָשַׁבְתִּי עַל מָה שֶׁחֲבֵרִים שֶׁלִּי אָמְרוּ

I really like traveling (Lit. ‘to travel’)  in Israel. But I thought about what my friends said.

הֵם אָמְרוּ שֶׁאֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל מְאוֹד קְטַנָּה וּבִגְלַל זֶה אֲנַחְנוּ צְרִיכִים לִנְסוֹעַ לִמְקוֹמוֹת אֲחֵרִים

They said that the Land of Israel is very small and that is why we have to travel to other places.

שָׁאַלְתִּי אֵת אִימָּא שֶׁלִּי מָה הִיא חוֹשֶׁבֶת עַל זֶה וְהִיא אָמְרָה: “כְּשֶׁאֲנִי הָיִיתִי בְּגִיל שֶׁלְּךָ טִיַּילְתִּי בְּכָל אֵירוֹפָּה, גַּם אַתָּה צָרִיךְ לִרְאוֹת אֲרָצוֹת אֲחֵרוֹת 

I asked my mom what she thinks of it and she said, “When I was your age I traveled all over Europe, you too need to see other countries.” 

אִימָּא שֶׁלִּי סִפְּרָה לִי עַל הַטִּיּוּל שֶׁלָּהּ לְאֵירוֹפָּה. הִיא הָיְיתָה בְּהַרְבֵּה אֲרָצוֹת: גֶּרְמַנְיָה, שְׁוַויְץ, הוֹלַנְד, צָרְפַת, אוֹסְטְרִיָה, בֶּלְגִיָה, אַנְגְלִיָה, שְׁבֶדְיָה, נוֹרְבֶגְיָה וְדֶּנְמַרְק 

My mother told me about her trip to Europe. She has been to many countries: Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Austria, Belgium, England, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

הִיא רָאֲתָה הָמוֹן דְּבָרִים וּבִּקְּרָה בְּהַרְבֵּה עָרִים, כְּמוֹ לְמָשָׁל: מִינְכְן, לוֹנְדוֹן, פָּרִיז, וִינָה, אַמְסְטֶרְדַם, אָנְטְוֶורְפֶּן, צִירִיךְ וּשְׁטוֹקְהוֹלְם

She saw a lot of things and visited many cities, such as Munich, London, Paris, Vienna, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Zurich and Stockholm.

?זֶה עָשָׂה לִי חֵשֶׁק, גַּם אֲנִי רוֹצֶה לִרְאוֹת עוֹלָם!  גַּם אַתָּה הָיִיתָ בַּמְּקוֹמוֹת הָאֵלּוּ? מָה רָאִיתָ שָׁם

It made me want to (Lit. ‘it made/created a desire for me’) , I also want to see the world! Have you been to these places too? What did you see there?

!חָבֵר טוֹב שֶׁלִּי חָזַר מִטִּיּוּל בְּהוֹדּוּ וְתַאיְלָנְד. הוּא הָיָה שָׁם חֲצִי שָׁנָה

A good friend of mine came back from a trip to India and Thailand. He was there for half a year!

שָׁאַלְתִּי אוֹתוֹ אִם כְּדַאי לִנְסוֹעַ לְשָׁם. הוּא אָמַר לִי: “בֶּטַח! הַטִּיּוּל שֶׁעָשִׂיתִי שִׁינָּה אֵת הַחַיִּים שֶׁלִּי. בִּיקַּרְתִּי בִּמְקוֹמוֹת מְעַנְיְינִים, רָאִיתִי דְּבָרִים יָפִים, פָּגַשְׁתִּי אֲנָשִׁים מְיוּחָדִים וְשָׁמַעְתִּי שָׂפוֹת זָרוֹת

I asked him if it is worth going there. He told me: “Sure! The trip I made changed my life. I visited interesting places, saw beautiful things, met special people and heard foreign languages.”

.הִקְשַׁבְתִּי לְסִיפּוּר שֶׁלּוֹ וְהֶחְלַטְתִּי שֶׁאֲנִי נוֹסֵעַ לְטַיֵּיל

I listened to his story and decided I was going to travel. 

בַּסּוֹף, טִיַּילְתִּי שְׁלוֹשָׁה (3) חֳודָשִׁים בִּדְרוֹם אָמֶרִיקָה. טִיפַּסְתִּי עַל הָרִים, קָפַצְתִּי בָּנְגִ’י וְהִכַּרְתִּי אֲנָשִׁים מִכָּל הָעוֹלָם. הָיָה טִיּוּל מְעוּלֶּה

In the end, I traveled three (3) months in South America. I climbed mountains, bungee jumping (Lit. ‘I jumped bungee’) and met people from all over the world. It was a great trip!
